Growing up in North East Scotland, Kim's life has always been deeply routed in nature. Throughout her journey she has developed a close relationship with it and works in harmony with nature to ground herself and express her creativity. Her photography journey began at age 16, when a period of deep depression and anxiety sparked the need for her to find a way to cope and survive her mental struggles. Photography gave her a way to channel her emotions and begin to see the beauty in all that surrounded her.
Photography was a hobby of hers for many years, as she began her working life in the care and medical sector, going on to qualify as an adult nurse and work for the NHS. Photography continued to be a savour for her throughout this time, giving her a release from the stresses and strains of the job. Towards the end of her nursing career, Kim began her YouTube channel, allowing her to share her photography adventures and philosophical thoughts with her world wide audience.
She now dedicates her life to finding new ways to connect with nature using her camera and sharing the positive benefits that this can bring to our wellbeing. Kim shares her insights and inspiring stories for free on her YouTube channel and weekly podcast Photographic Connections. While also offering an online members community, in person photography weekends and online one to one mentoring, for those who feel called to embark on their own healing journey through photography.
